The Rome Business Game is a role-play entirely dedicated to business, international markets, marketing and business management. It is also the first case of a highly international business role-play in Rome that involves real business realities and students from all over the world. During the simulation, 300 participants from around the world will compete against each other to win an opportunity within the world of international business.
What are the main reasons to participate?
- it is an opportunity to live for 4 days fully immersed in the most prestigious economic and business realities
- you can acquire or refine a series of soft skills which are essential for a successful career: techniques for proper business management, analysis and insight of business dynamics, team working, and practical problem solving
- you have the chance to meet real experts from business and marketing companies and to propose innovative solutions/products to challenges presented by those same experts
- you can test yourself in a realistic environment to understand if you are cut out for a career in business
- Every year Giovani nel Mondo awards the best participants with prizes, scholarships, internships and international opportunities
During the Rome Business Game participants can interact in a truly multicultural environment, working in English and developing managerial and technical skills which are extremely important in today’s competitive international job market. Managers of our partner companies will present practical business cases to the participants who, divided into teams, have to propose a project (launch of a new product, innovative marketing campaign, practical solution(s) to company-wide problems, etc.). The winning team has the possibility of an interview with a human resources manager of one of our partner companies or even an internship.
What is the specific role of those taking part to the Rome Business Game?
Participants are divided into two categories:
The “Junior” category is open to undergrad/Bachelor students and those in the first year of their Master’s while the “Expert” category is for those about to graduate or that have already graduated.
The selected participants are divided into teams who will compete against each other to present the best idea. Each day of the 4-day long Festival will be dedicated to one of our partner companies and to their specific challenge. The teams will work on the case study and, at the end of the day, present their project to our panel of judges (representatives of the company) who will then declare the winner.
Who can participate?
The Rome Business Game is particularly designed for students of economics, business administration, management engineering, computer engineering, marketing, polytechnic universities. It is also necessary to have a certificated B1 level of English. In case you do not have a certificate, you can take an online English test provided by our official partner Babel (the link to access the English test will be sent by email upon registration). In order to provide students with a proper Festival experience, and to make sure everyone’s experience is of a certain quality, the association organises a pre-conference preparation schedule. What is the registration procedure?
The first step is the application of aspiring participants that must be completed and submitted by the 21st of December 2018, then you just have to follow the automatic steps of the system to complete the registration.
For those who want to apply for a fully funded scholarship, the deadline is December 14th.
In addition, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the initiative, Giovani nel Mondo has decided to offer its members a further opportunity, that is the possibility of following a live pre-conference training course. There will be a series of in-depth meetings both on the practical-procedural aspect of the event and on international careers in general, so as to make participants more aware and therefore better prepared to face the experience of the Festival.
This training course will also take place within a unique setting: the amazing Costa Diadema ship, thanks to the partnership with Costa Crociere. Being an International Careers Festival, Giovani nel Mondo will offer a trip to some of the most beautiful cities of the Mediterranean in the week before the Festival. During the week of travel, it will be possible to participate every day in a 3-hour session of ad hoc structured preparation for the final event of the Festival. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to experience the countless services offered by Costa Diadema and visit wonderful cities such as Savona, Marseille, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca and Palermo: all destinations that over the centuries have been the theater of exchange of cultures, traditions, history, trade and collaboration among different nations.
For the first time, therefore, the Festival becomes itinerant and, in addition to the Roman experience, interested participants can also join the pre-event training week.
