Duty Station: New York, USA

Timeframe: six months, although a shorter period of time would also be considered.

Job description: Provide support in tasks including media monitoring and analysis, drafting and editing of content for print, web and multimedia, events and publications. Assist with updates to the Office's website and social media. Assist in organizing special events at the UN focusing on CAAC related themes. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); or have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation; be computer literate in standard software applications. Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views. English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
Wage/Fees: unpaid and full time
