Duty Station:  Paris, France

 

Open To: full-time students in economics or another discipline related to the work of the OECD (social affairs, trade, agriculture, development, education, employment, environment, finance, tax affairs and statistics)

 

Timeframe: the duration of the internship is for a period between 2 and 6 months, from January to June for the Winter Program and from July to December for the Summer Program, full time (40 hours per week). Your availability must be indicated in the cover letter

Job description: the OECD Internship Programme was designed to bring highly qualified and motivated students with different backgrounds within the Organization in order to work on projects related to the strategic guidelines of the Secretary General. The main objective is to give candidates the opportunity to improve their analytical and technical skills, as well as the experience of working in a truly international environment. Candidates will have to carry out research activities and provide statistical and technical support for the analysis work, all under the direction of a senior OECD official. In particular:

Research, data analysis and drafting

- Participate in the preparation of studies and documents
- Carry out research and revisions of existing material
- Collect, organize and evaluate data
- Contribute to the production of documents, working documents and publications from the above activities, including editorial notes and preparation of technical annexes

Liaison and outreach

- Attend meetings and seminars
- Establish and maintain professional contacts and build networks with national administrations, researchers, other international organizations and delegations from member countries
- Undertake other activities as required

 

Qualifications: the qualifications needed to be able to send your application for the Winter Programme internships with the OECD are:

- international experience in research and analysis activities through studies, internships or professional activities are considered an added value
- computer skills (Microsoft office)
- excellent command of one of the two official languages of the OECD (English and French) and knowledge of, or willingness to learn either one or the other language. Knowledge of other languages will be considered an added value
- excellent analytical skills demonstrated by previous professional academic experiences
- strong interest in the work of the OECD in promoting international cooperation
- ability to plan and apply research individually
- ability to organize and synthesize complex material
- good organizational skills, ability to work effectively on the basis of general instructions with the ability to prioritize activities
- ability to work in a multicultural environment and to adapt to changing working methods and technologies
- good editorial and communication skills
