Job description: the European Commission is inviting young people from around the world to play an active role in this year’s European Development Days (EDD). It is looking for 15 extraordinary young people aged 21-26 who can represent the powerful impact that youth are having in the development field. The Young Leaders Programme will consist of a 10-day visit to Brussels, where Young Leaders will meet EU experts, stakeholders and play a leading role in the EDD Programme, which will include speaking in various session alongside global leaders

 

Qualifications:

- the young leader should select the EDD 2018 Topic on which you would like to speak

- the Young Leaders are expected to have a minimum level of intermediate English

(Level B2 in the “Common European Framework of References for Languages”)

- It is important that the Young Leaders invited to speak at EDD 2018 represent other youth, and don’t only speak in their name only. The European Commision is looking for candidates who have proven leadership in projects, organisations, initiatives and who are able to represent other youth at the forum

- the Young Leaders are expected to be actively committed to development in general and, more specifically, the topics of their choice. Activities can include a variety of different ways of getting involved, such as building a project, leading a group, conducting research, or volunteering for a cause related to your topics of choice

- provide a one-page reference letter from someone who can confirm your involvement and representative role (include contact details)

- upload a link to a 2-min video on Youtube, to present yourself, your vision of your chosen topic and why you would be a good youth representative at EDD 2018 (in English)
