Eurofound, the European Union organisation, is looking for candidates wishful to participate to a traineeship in Research and Social Policies sector

Organization: Eurofound, European Union body created in 1975, is aimed to develop and encourage the planification and introduction of measures trying to create better conditions for life and work. Eurofound, which carries out its activities cooperating with governments, European Union institutions, employers and trade unions, has an office in Brussels whose goal is to strengthen the researches impact at community level and to implement political decisions. Eurofound, which main activities concern the communication, the research information and industrial relations, is overseen by a director, a deputy director and board of directors that meet up once a year to set up budgets. Current director and deputy director are Jorma Karppinnen and  Erika Metzger

Job description: Candidates, applying for the traineeship in Research and Social Policies, will be involved in the following activities:

- analyse trends, impacts and consequences for different population groups in light of economic conditions, demographic change and social developments

- work on projects within the public services activity area with a focus on research

- contribute to the development of a conceptual framework, including social problems facing the current generation of young people

- assist in carrying out a literature review as well as the analysis of data sources  - contribute to the development of a questionnaire for a consultation among services providers approaches


Qualifications: Candidates should have the following qualifications:

- have a master's degree in social policy, sociology or related field

- have good numerical skills, ability to analyse and interpret data

- have a good understanding and interest in European Union social policy

- have a previous research experience in areas concerning youth and policies

- have very IT skills (particularly in Word, Excel and Outlook)

- have the ability to multitask  

- have good writing skills

- have  good language ability, being fluent in English and another European Union language
