The Boustany Foundation is offering one Scholarship for a two-year Harvard Business School MBA course starting in  autumn 2019.

Organization: Established in 2006 by Nabil Boustany and his son Fadi, the Boustany Foundation grants various scholarships across a range of academic disciplines in order to create opportunities for exceptional students. Moreover, it promotes aid programmes for disadvantaged children. The Foundation aims to contribute to the development and welfare of mankind through:

  • supporting all disciplines contributing to the evolution of human civilizations (astronomy, medicine, science & technology, finance);
  • promoting harmony between human populations by promoting awareness and acceptance of the other's culture and facilitating, when necessary, the dissemination and flow of information.

Open To: All candidates having an excellent academic background and showing considerable promise. Although the Scholarship can be awarded to candidates of any nation, priority will be given to candidates of Lebanese descent.

Candidates may apply for the Scholarship only after receiving an offer of admission from the Harvard MBA programme.

 

Timeframe: The class will start in Autumn 2019.

Description: The Scholarship offers the following:

  • Financial aid amounting to US$95,000 (US$47,500 per year) towards tuition fees;
  • Travel and accommodation expenses related to the internship.

The Boustany MBA Harvard Scholarship is granted once every two years for a two year course at Harvard Business School. Each year is divided into two semesters. During the first year, all students will pursue the same course of study so that to build a solid, broad foundation of general management concepts and skills across all the key disciplines. During the second year, students choose from an unparalleled range of selective courses up to five courses per semester and also have the opportunity to cross-register for courses in other select graduate programmes.

Successful scholars are then expected to complete a two-month unpaid internship with the Foundation.

 

Qualifications: Harvard students are known for sharing the following common characteristics:

  • Habit of leadership on any scale, from organizing a classroom to directing a combat squad, from running an independent business to spearheading initiatives at work;
  • Analytical aptitude and appetite. Harvard students assess, analyze, and act upon complex information within often-ambiguous contexts. In order to achieve this, the MBA Admissions Board will review your prior academic performance, the results of the GMAT or GRE, and, if applicable, TOEFL iBT and/or IELTS, and the nature of your work experience. There is no particular previous course of study required to apply; you must, however, demonstrate the ability to master analytical and quantitative concepts;
  • Engaged Community Citizenship. Harvard Business School is looking for students who exhibit the highest ethical standards and respect for others, and can make positive contributions to the MBA Program.
