In exceptional cases, the Department of Cognitive Science will also consider candidates who only hold a bachelor's degree, provided it is in a discipline closely associated with cognitive science.

The Department of Mathematics also accepts excellent candidates with a bachelor's degree only, if they have completed at least four years of university by the time of enrolling, and have a strong mathematical background.

Students enrolled in a doctoral program at CEU must not be simultaneously enrolled in other institutions of higher education, and are required, at the beginning of their studies at CEU, to sign a declaration to this effect

- CEU Master's Scholarships

The CEU Master's Scholarship covers up to 100% of tuition, health insurance and a monthly stipend of HUF 96,000 (approx. EUR 310) or HUF 50,000 (approx. EUR 160) to assist with living costs. Single or shared housing in the CEU Residence Center may also be offered to scholarship recipients

- CEU Doctoral Scholarships

CEU offers a competitive financial aid package to students in doctoral programs. Applicants to a CEU doctoral program are automatically considered for a CEU Doctoral Scholarship. The CEU Doctoral Scholarship covers the full cost of tuition and health insurance, and includes a monthly stipend of HUF 242,000 (approx. EUR 780) that covers housing and living costs

Job description: The Kreuzberger Kinderstiftung scholarship for ECCHR’s Legal Training Program offers young people with limited financial means and/or from underrepresented geographic and social backgrounds the chance to gain professional experience in human rights work. This is the third call for scholarship applications from ECCHR and the Kreuzberger Kinderstiftung. In the first two rounds of applications scholarships were awarded to 11 candidates from Australia, Costa Rica, Germany, Germany/Egypt, Greece, Guatemala, India, Italy, Kenya, Pakistan and Romania/Moldova. They have found our work together to be a very enriching experience, and ECCHR look forward to the next round of applications.    

 

Qualifications: Applicants should have the following knowledge and experience:

Education: Ongoing or completed degree in law and/or another relevant subject area. Applicants may set out the relevance of their education history in more detail in their letter of motivation

Knowledge: All applicants should have a fundamental understanding of human rights and some experience in dealing with human rights topics. Program-specific background knowledge is also important

Business and Human Rights: Good knowledge of international debates on the topic of business and human rights and of legal action against companies on a national level

International Crimes and Accountability: Good understanding of international criminal law (incl. extraterritorial cases at national level) as well as the current legal and political debates on international criminal jurisdiction. Background knowledge of sexualized violence in international criminal law is a plus

Migration: Good knowledge of European and public international law as well as the relevant fundamentals of refugee law, ideally also practical experience in migration law or refugee protection.

Languages: Excellent written and spoken English is required. German language skills are desirable but not required for the Legal Training Program. Other languages are a plus (e.g. Spanish, Arabic, Russian and French – depending on current projects).

 

Wage/Fees: Students will receive a gross monthly wage of €1,550 (minus tax and social security deductions). For scholarship holders the Kreuzberger Kinderstiftung will also cover return travel costs from the place of residence to Berlin up to €1,500 and any visa costs that arise.

- the applicants can prove a very strong knowledge of English

- the applicants show strong motivation to follow a master programme at the Faculty of Science of the KU Leuven

- the applicants are willing to act as ambassador for the programme

 

Wage/Fees: The amount of the scholarship can be up to 10.000 Euro for 1 year. The Board of the Science@Leuven Fund will decide exactly how much a scholarship will be. The scholarship will always cover the tuition fee for 1 year, the insurance and a basic health insurance coverage. The amount awarded for living expenses can vary. If a student is awarded the full scholarship of 10.000 Euro, it is still advisable to bring some extra money.  It’s possibile to find an overview of costs to be expected here

 Most master programmes of the Faculty of Science are two-year programmes. The scholarship for the second master year will only be continued on the condition that the student had outstanding results the first master year. Scholarship students have to take at least 60 credits the first year.  They have to acquire all the credits they signed up for in the first master year before they will be awarded the scholarship for the second master year.  The scholarship can only be awarded in two consecutive years

Application process: Candidates could apply for the master programme through the application tool of the KU Leuven. Please read the application instructions  carefully

- a complete list of course titles for which you have obtained a credit. The scholarship offers a 25% reduction of the tuition fee for the standard duration of the course. Qualifications: Applicants must meet each of the following conditions in order to apply:
