- Have a strong academic background that demonstrates your ability to undertake and complete a university degree while maintaining involvement in scholarship activities

Application process: Candidates can apply for up to three postgraduate programmes. If applying for more than one degree, candidates must submit a research proposal specific to each area of study he or she applies for.

Candidates are required to submit the following documents for the application:

- Research proposal

- Undergraduate or Masters degree certificate (if available)

- Two academic references (one of the references must be from your most recent university)

- CV

If the undergraduate or Masters degree certificate is not written in English, candidates must submit a certified English translation of it. In case of being an international student applying for a science or engineering-based programme, candidates may need approval from the Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) to be accepted

The Royal Holloway, University of London is announcing three scholarships, one per Faculty, for new undergraduate students with home/EU fee status

ORGANIZATION:The Royal Holloway was founded in 1886 by the multi-millionaire entrepreneur Thomas Holloway. The founder followed the advice of his wife to open a college for the women’s education, it is not coincidence that the college was opened by Queen Victoria in 1886. Not only Thomas Holloway realized the importance of women’s education, also Elizabeth Jesser Reid who founded the Bedford College in 1849 as the first British college for the development of women’s education. In 1900, Royal Holloway and Bedford College became the University of London, the first institution in the UK to award degrees to women. Both colleges admitted men  in 1965 and in 1982 the partnership agreement between the two colleges paved the way for what is now known as the Royal Holloway, University of London

OPEN TO: Undergraduate students with home/EU fee status and with final grades at GCE A-level of AAA or equivalent

 

TIMEFRAME: Scholarships cover the full tuition fee for 3 years of undergraduate study at Royal Hollowoay

 

DEADLINE: On March 28, 2017

 

DESCRIPTION:

These scholarships are available as tuition fee waivers equivalent to the full annual Home/ EU tuition fee over the first three years of study at Royal Holloway, unless a student spends a year abroad or one year on an industrial placement. In such cases, the tuition fee waiver will be applied in year 4 instead of year 3. For students on a four year programme with no industrial placement and for student on a five year programme with an industrial placement, the scholarship will be paid in the first three years of the degree programme only. In order to be eligible to receive this scholarship after year 1, an average academic grade of at least 60 per cent is required each year.
