Job description: The young Leaders Access Program is based on 3 phases:

Summer Retreat (10 days):

The Program begins with an intensive summer retreat that facilitates leadership development, a deep understanding of global citizenship, and how to implement a project from beginning to end. The retreat is held in late July/early August in Burlington, Vermont and New York City, New York. In addition to working alongside MCW Global team members, alumni mentors, and volunteers, participants will also hear from a range of experts from academia, civil society, development, and the public and private sectors about their own community-action projects.

Vision Planning Project Development (12 months)

Participants come to the Program with an idea of a community issue they want to address through the process of vision planning, which aims to transform passion into a tangible plan for change. During this process, participants will be able to put their local issues into a larger global context while exploring why they are in a unique position to make change happen. Participants will also determine which tools they need to apply to the plan, in order to make it actionable. After the retreat, Young Leaders are expected to further develop and/or implement their plan in collaboration with their alumni mentors.

Alumni Mentorship and Ongoing Support (12 months)

To further develop and execute their vision plans, Young Leaders are paired with alumni mentors, who guide them at the retreat toward creating an actionable plan. During the year, alumni mentors support participants by facilitating quarterly “hangouts” and ongoing remote communication. Alumni mentors undergo customized training prior to the start of the program in order to support team building and cultural competency.

 

Qualifications: To be eligible for the Program of Young Leaders the candidates must:

- Demonstrate commitment to their community;

- Identify an issue in their community to address;

- Be between the ages of 18-26;

- Be fluent in written and spoken English;

- Commit to attending the 10-day retreat and spending the following year aiming to execute their community project;

- Be eligible for appropriate visa and travel documentation;

- Have access to email and Internet to allow for consistent communication with the MCW Global Team and Young Leaders Program alumni-mentor for the duration of the year-long program;

- Adhere to Young Leaders Access Program graduation guidelines (to be provided upon acceptance to the program).

 

Wage/fees: MCW Global will cover program and flight costs, also the costs during the summer retreat including housing, food, travel to and from the retreat venues, and any necessary supplies.

MCW Global requires all participant to pay for on the ground costs, including passport, visa, and in-country ground transportation fees.

The Eiffel scholarships are available in the following fields:

Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this Campus French scholarship should:

- be non-French national. Candidates with two nationalities, one of which is French, are not eligible;

- be no older than 30 on the date of the 2019 Campaign, for master’s level. At PhD level, candidates must be no older than 35 on the date of the 2019 Campaign;

- submit his/her application by a French educational institution. These institutions commit to enrolling scholarship holders on the academic program for which they have been selected;

- wish to enrol on a master's program, including at an engineering school, and for PhD students;

Wage: The Master’s level The Eiffel scholarship consist of a monthly allowance of €1,181. In addition, the following benefits are covered:

- National transport: a train ticket to the first study location; a train ticket from the last study location to the airport for the return to the country of origin;

- Local transport: reimbursement of up to a maximum of €50 of the trip between the airport or train station and the first study location (taxi or public transport);

- Mutual health insurance;

- Cultural activities.

The PhD level The Eiffel scholarship includes a monthly allowance of €1,400. In addition are covered the same benefits for the Master’s level.

 

Application process: The student who wants to apply for this scholarship programme should:

- Be pre-selected by French higher education institutions among the foreign students admitted to one of their academic programs;

- Make sure that the institutions complete and submit his applications online on behalf of their candidates;

- Make sure that the applications fulfil the Eiffel Program criteria. The total duration of the academic program, including mandatory internships in France or abroad must be clearly stated in the application;

Organization: This scholarship is part of the Oxford Graduate Scholarships, which were established through a ground-breaking new matched funding initiative to enable the creation of fully-funded scholarships for graduate students of the highest calibre from across the world. The University contributes 40% of the funds for these scholarships, together with 60% from generous donations provided by supporters of the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust, including Fondation Hoffmann. Fondation Hoffmann is a Swiss-based grant making institution supporting the emergence and expansion of concrete projects which address global problems in today's societies.

This scholarship forms part of the wider Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme, managed by the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust.

Job description: The Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme cultivates the leaders of tomorrow by providing outstanding university graduates and professionals from developing and emerging economies with the opportunity to pursue fully-funded graduate studies at the University of Oxford, combined with a comprehensive programme of leadership development, long-term mentoring and networking.

Application process:

In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must select the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme in the University of Oxford Scholarships section of the University's graduate application form and submit your application for graduate study by the relevant January deadline for your course. See the Courses page for the deadline applicable to your course.

You must also complete a Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships Statement and upload it, together with your graduate application form, by the deadline.

The details inserted in the ‘Nationality and ordinary residence’ section of the graduate application form will be used to assess your country of ordinary residence. For a definition of ordinary residency and further details on how to complete this section of the graduate application form, please see the Nationality and Ordinary residence sections of the graduate application form and also the Technical Help.

To be eligible for consideration for this scholarship, applicants must be successful in being offered a place on their course after consideration of applications received by the relevant January deadline for the course. Course applications which are held over after the January deadline to be re-evaluated against applications received by the March deadline or course applications which have been put on a waiting list are not eligible for scholarship consideration.

If you are shortlisted for the scholarship, you will be required to participate in an interview, which is likely to be held via Skype in April/May 2019

The following scholarships are available:

 - 5 partial awards of £3,000 each to international applicants

- 2 partial awards of £2,500 each to home/EU applicants

- 1 full-tuition fee scholarship to an international applicant

 

Qualification: The Scholarships are awarded exclusively on academic merit in recognition of academic excellence. Ideal candidates should possess the following qualifications:

- recent law graduates

- undergraduates completing their course before September 2016

- those currently completing professional legal qualifications

- non-Law graduates in a discipline related to the programme

- International and home/EU students
